Sigh.
I soooo wish the above statement wasn’t true.
I wish people didn’t have to go through difficult and challenging and painful times to grow. I wish it could all come easy.
But it doesn’t.
When I think back to the moments in my life of which I feel were the richest, the experiences that felt the most fulfilling I would have to say they were times born out of adversity.
- triumph out of tragedy…a vacation after months of hellish crises…vacations are lovely, but there are a couple that I will never forget because to get to that vacation required months of endurance…and oh, how sweet those times were
- accomplishment after months of rigourous effort and practice, of learning and painful mistakes
- times when I had to resort to “Plan B” in my life, which was a huge disappointment…until that plan showed itself to be more incredible than I would have thought.
I love this video…this guy can dance.
And I love the top quote about the video:
“Dude is not a good dancer with polio. Dude is a good dancer, PERIOD”
You forget that he has had to deal with adversity…all you can see is that he uses the tools that have resulted from the adversity…his crutches…be used to actually enhance his dancing prowess.
This guy’s dancing made my day when I saw it…mebbe it will make yours too?
