Waiting Room Book now available

Therapist-friends of mine recently asked me to make copies of the book, “Is there still time to run?” available for purchase.

Therapy room waiting book, "Is there still time to run?" now available for purchase at bergen and ASsociates counselling in Winnipeg manitoba

To my surprise and utter delight, they loved the gentle, comforting brief words on the pages.

  • validating a client’s courage in attending therapy
  • normalizing apprehension and uncertainty
  • educating them about the process of therapy
  • soothing them at a time when they might find themselves anxious
  • beginning to establish a therapeutic alliance from the moment a client enters the waiting room, even prior to meeting the therapist

The therapists valued the book because not all clients in the waiting room are interested in reading.  First-session-clients might just need beautiful photos of nature to calm them during those anxious final few moments before they begin an initial session.

a quote from Bergen and associates

The pictures (sans watermark, of course!) on each of the 26 pages evoke emotion through the vivid colours. The text contains several quotes from respected authors and therapists. It is written as if the therapist is speaking directly to the client.

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers. A quote by M. Scott Peck

I ordered a pile for my therapist-friends who pre-ordered them from me when I was in San Antonio last month, and I shipped them off earlier this week. However, I did order a few more than were requested. Limited quantity of copies of softcover and hardcover editions now available here.  Email us through our contact page for delivery quotes outside of North America, or for multiple copies.

Clients find therapy difficult.  Why wouldn’t we as therapists do everything possible to make it easier for them?
