Frequently Asked Questions:
Where is it located?
We have found that a relaxed atmosphere of a home lends itself to participants being able to share and participate in a less sterile environment than a conference room in a hotel. You’ll get all the information about location when you register in your confirmation letter when you registration is confirmed. It is centrally located in Winnipeg near bus routes.
What is the format?
The Daring Way weekend is comprised of teaching by Carolyn, videos featuring Brené Brown specifically developed for this weekend, personal reflection, activities on your own and with the group, and group discussion. The group is the “secret sauce” of the weekend–the conversation is rich and powerful. Please know that we are very clear that group participants are invited to “take a pass” and we actually prefer that participants decline to answer when they would prefer and not share anything of themselves they prefer to keep confidential.
Do I need to read the book before I come?
Nope. You don’t. It can help, but the material isn’t dependent on reading the books. Sometimes, participants actually prefer reading the books after they come. It’s up to you if you’d like to “read ahead”, or if you’d like to just come. A lot of people come after watching Brené Brown’s viral TED talk, or seeing her on another video on Netflix or hearing about her in a workshop somewhere. No prerequisites for the weekend.
The Daring Way is developed out of the book, Daring Greatly, available online and in bookstores.
