If you want to ask Melanie for a favour…this would be a good week to do it.
Melanie is flying high, all smiles, and if you slow down as you pass her desk, you will have no option but to hear the good news…Baby Ava was born healthy yesterday at 6:11 am, right on her due date…6 pounds 0 ounces.
Melanie will smile. She will show you pictures. She will smile. She will tell you of how she sat in her living room yesterday afternoon asking herself: “Did I really just hold my grand baby?” with the resulting compelling reason to go visit little Ava in the evening. And then she will smile some more.
She’s lovestruck.
She’s besotted…completely, utterly.
She’s amazed…if you give her the least encouragement (and we very cheerfully did), she will go on about the baby’s fingernails, about her hair, about how she calmed quickly for her first bath. She marvels at this perfect, tiny, intricately created creature.
If Melanie seems distracted if you should call her this week, it’s likely because she is looking at pictures of her first grandchild while she is chatting with you. She means well, and she’s trying hard, but she’s the first to admit her head is only half in the game this week at Bergen and Associates.
Thanx, Chris and Emilee, for making your mom so happy. She’s always a delight to work with, but today, with her completely intoxicated with the joy of Ava’s birth…she’s been over the top fun. We love having her around all the time…but she is positively goofy with joy.
So…if you call our office and she says, “Hello, Bergen and Associates, Grandma speaking”..we thank you in advance for your understanding! 😉
