M.A. Counselling Intern
Zach is in the final stages of pursuing an M.A. in Counselling C.C.C. and he has obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Providence University College and Theological Seminary locally here in Manitoba.
Zach brings a warm and inviting presence as he seeks to work with individual adult and teen clients. His interest in people first began through his own journey in exploring and understanding others, but feeling stuck Zach quickly became enamoured with the idea that we are all built for connection. He is passionate about helping others overcome addictions as well as assisting individuals to find hope in the midst of daily life challenges. Zach is a firm believer that the opposite of addiction is connection.
Zach’s goal as a therapist is to see others become the very best version of themselves that they can be, given their circumstances. He strives to do so by creating a warm and welcoming space that is safe for clients to feel seen and heard, leading to a feeling of genuine value through the therapeutic relationship. He recognizes that it takes bravery to enter the door for the first time and wants to ensure that all feel welcomed in the office.
Zach desires to help individuals find long-lasting change through the power found in sessions as the healing process is explored. The challenges that we face as individuals are often much deeper than what is presented on the surface, but through putting in the work, Zach believes individuals can find this change in their own lives. Through change, a world of new possibilities allows an individual to flourish.
Zach wants to grow alongside others and continues to find new ways to integrate best practices to adjust his skill set to meet the needs of each person he encounters. He looks forward to helping others work through varying issues such as grief, loss, anxiety, depression, and addiction. Through the process, he seeks to help people change their inner narrative and find hope in their journey. Zach believes that others are valuable and worthy of love despite perceived areas of weakness or flaws.
We are excited about our new intern student, Zach, joining us. Research suggests that therapists with his level of training can be as effective as more experienced therapists, and his services will be available at a reduced fee."
