- I’m intrigued, but it’s a whole weekend
- I’d love to, but I’d walk in without knowing anybody
- I love Brené Brown and her work, but taking a course with strangers?
A lot of folks who attend aren’t sure about it before they come. But we find that attenders are consistently thrilled by the experience.

Frequently Asked Questions:
I’m interested, but not sure if I should attend The Daring Way weekend or The Rising Strong weekend. Which one (or both) is right for me?
The Daring Way is the course to take if you are interested in generally discovering more about how to “Show up, Be seen, and Live Brave”™. It looks at themes of shame, vulnerability, relationships, armoring up and so on. It will generally provide you with information and discussion from Brené Brown’s book, Daring Greatly, as you endeavor to live life in greater richness and depth.
Rising Strong is a weekend that helps participants work through what happens when you have endeavored to live life with greater richness and depth and you experience failure/loss/disappointment. It looks specifically at making sense of the challenges of this painful time.
There is some overlap between the two–but rather than being repetitive, it is a building of concepts by circling back and consolidating old learning with new layers of understanding. You might be interested in one more than the other–or both!
Where is it located?
We have found that a relaxed atmosphere of a home lends itself to participants being able to share and participate in a less sterile environment than a conference room in a hotel. You’ll get all the information about location when you register in your confirmation letter when you registration is confirmed. It is centrally located in Winnipeg near bus routes.
What is the format?
Both weekends are comprised of teaching by Carolyn, videos featuring Brené Brown specifically developed for each program, personal reflection, activities on your own and with the group, and group discussion. The group is the “secret sauce” of the weekend–the conversation is rich and powerful. Please know that we are very clear that group participants are invited to “take a pass” and we actually prefer that participants decline to answer when they would prefer and not share anything of themselves they prefer to keep confidential.
Do I need to read the books before I come?
Nope. You don’t. It can help, but the material isn’t dependent on reading the books. Sometimes, participants actually prefer reading the books after they come.
