Oprah Lifeclass with Brené Brown

Several weeks ago, I went to Oprah’s Lifeclass.  I felt like I was living “on the edge” to plan a trip to Chicago on short notice and be in the studio audience of a nationally televised show. Not my usual style to do something so impulsive, crazy…and wildly fun…but  I’m learning to tolerate higher levels of vulnerability.  The risks are worth it when the payoff is laughter and joy.

Two intelligent and thoughtful women having a discussion with a room full of people who are passionate about making the world a better place through authentic connection.  It was lovely.  A clip from the show:

Totally looking forward to enjoying watching the episode again, this time with family, in the comfort of my home.  I’ve switched up my MTS package to make sure I get the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) and gonna PVR it too!

I’ve been calling on my courage deep lately, for some new projects I’ve been involved in…remembering that courage doesn’t mean we don’t feel fear, it means we tolerate the uncertainty and discomfort and forge ahead. I’ve been breathing deep, and reminding myself that my value doesn’t depend on my performance of any one task…and that helps calm me as I go into what feels like terrifying territory.
